Local Info

Zambia has a wonderful climate as most of the year is warm and sunny.

The Zambian winter starts in April when the days are warm but the night time temperature drops a few degrees.

May is the same as April with beautiful days of uninterrupted blue skies.
June & July are the coldest months, the daytime is still warm although first thing in the morning it can be cool and in the evening you need a jumper.

August is called the windy month when a nice breeze can be felt, the sky is still blue and the nights and early mornings begin to get warmer. With average temperatures around 20c the trees begin to flower for the Zambian spring.

In September it begins to get hotter and the nights are warm and balmy.

By October the temperature is rises to about 30c and the nights are still very warm.

The Zambian people start preparing the land for the beginning of the rains in November. At the first sprinkle of rain the ground is covered with little flowers, which seem to come from nowhere and as quickly as possible the crops are planted.

In November & December the fruit trees provide a wonderful crop of Mango, Guava, Custard Apples and many other bush fruits followed by Avocado, Oranges, Lemons and other citrus fruits.

The rains last until March, usually in the evenings, with blue skies and sunshine all day. There are spectacular storms when the whole of the sky is ablaze with lighting and the sound of thunder can be heard all around. It really is the most amazing spectacle of the power of God’s creation and an exciting, breath-taking sight.
